Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and analytical accounting leader to serve as Accounting Manager – Reporting & Systems. This role blends core accounting oversight with ownership of financial reporting, business intelligence, and systems enhancement. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in improving data visibility, automating reporting, and supporting ongoing finance transformation initiatives across the organization.

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial and operational reports across multiple business units.
• Own and enhance business intelligence and reporting solutions, including Anterra and Power BI, supporting automation and self‑service reporting initiatives.
• Partner with operational, construction, and leadership teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into meaningful dashboards and analyses.
• Supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable approvals, and check batch reviews.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of three (Staff Accountant, AP Supervisor, and remote Bookkeeper).
• Support and optimize financial systems, including Sage 300 and Sage Paperless, and participate in future systems enhancements or transitions.
• Oversee and support general contractor payment systems, lien waivers, and billing‑related workflows.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy.
• Assist the Controller with month‑end and year‑end close, audits, compliance, and internal controls.
• Support ad hoc analysis, reporting requests, and cross‑functional initiatives as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong background in financial reporting, general ledger, and month‑end close.
• Demonstrated experience building or managing reporting solutions and dashboards (Power BI, Anterra, or similar tools).
• ERP experience required;
  Sage 300 preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling) required.
• Experience in construction, real estate, or project‑based environments is a plus.
• CPA or public accounting background is beneficial but not required.
