Purpose
The purpose of this role is to develop well‑rounded future talent with construction expertise across multi‑disciplines – ultimately creating professionals with experience in the full scope of construction management. Specifically, this role assists and supports Field Operations and/or Estimating functions in achieving their respective goals and objectives. This role contributes to several facets of construction (project management, field operations, estimating).
Position DescriptionThis role assists in achieving a zero‑injury culture through the support of Teichert’s Injury Prevention and Safety program and active participation in safety meetings and training sessions. The position also includes completing assignments and tasks on time, accurately, and meeting customer expectations; working with Project Managers, Superintendents, and/or Estimators to resolve problems; and maintaining company/project policies and procedures.
Focus & ScopeEssential duties and responsibilities are indicated below.
- Actively supports estimating and field operation goals and objectives through completing technical/administrative projects on time, providing ongoing support, and proactively resolving challenges and issues.
- Collaborates across departments and supports consistent Field Operations and Estimating practices and administrative procedures.
- Promotes and protects Teichert Construction values, including diversity, teamwork, fairness, and respect of others.
- Promotes and protects the community perception of Teichert.
- Assists in achieving a zero‑injury culture by supporting safety programs and meetings.
- Completes assignments on time, accurately, and meets customer expectations; collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, and/or Estimators to resolve problems.
- Provides support and assists in coordinating resources for assigned projects, including checking labor, equipment, and materials for accuracy, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, and ordering and scheduling materials.
- Assists Estimators in material takeoffs and validates work submitted by Take‑Off Techs, resolving miscalculations and job‑related issues.
- Accurately prepares estimates, reviewing proposal specifications and drawings, determining scope, and projecting unit and man hour figures.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers, communicating company and project policies and maintaining a favorable impression of the company.
- Completes internal administrative duties and documentation, including project logs, files, reports, and estimates.
- Takes ownership of managing career, professional growth, and contribution to Teichert Construction, working closely with engineering services, field operations, and/or estimating.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering (or related field) or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
Experience & Industry Expertise- Typically, a Project Engineer I = 0–2 years;
Project Engineer II = 2+ years
Job Requirements
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain required company auto insurance limits
- Current on all company‑required safety training
- Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and avoid conflicts of interest
- Knowledge of drafting and ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to utilize computer‑aided systems and equipment to calculate material quantity requirements
