Under the direction of the Deputy Director for District 10 Planning, Local Assistance & Environmental Support (CEA), the incumbent is directly responsible for the overall program management of the Local Assistance, Project Initiation, Travel Forecasting, and Environmental Branches within District 10. Areas of emphasis include Local Assistance and Project Initiation management, environmental program oversight, monitoring unit resource expenditures, tracking local project progress, and identifying and resolving project delivery barriers.
The role involves supervisory responsibilities for program management and related activities and functions. Additional information is available in the Duty Statement.
Pursuant to California Code of Regulations 549.90, this position will be filled via the California Department of Transportation Managerial Selection Program (MSP) process.
Minimum Qualifications- Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
- Either:
- I. One year of transportation engineering experience as a senior‑level engineer in the California state service.
- II. One year of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent to a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service,
** and
* * two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher in the California state service. - III. Broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience, two years of which are equivalent in responsibility to the senior‑level engineer in the California state service.
This examination evaluates each candidate’s experience and education (E&E) compared to a standard developed from the Class Specification. Candidates must complete the State application (STD 678) accurately and include all experience relevant to the
