Full-time or Part-time, weekday days (may consider 4x10s or weekend coverage)
Assignment: 6–12 month contract with option to extend
Compensation:
Competitive and based on license & employment type (W-2 or 1099). Benefits available for eligible W-2 contractors.

Consistent daytime schedule and stable caseload in a structured, team-based environment.
Work shoulder-to-shoulder with psychologists, RNs, psychiatrists and custody staff focused on stabilization and continuity of care.
Highly organized documentation standards and clear clinical protocols that support your practice.
What you’ll do- Provide individual and group psychotherapy, brief interventions and crisis/risk assessment for an adult justice‑involved population.
- Develop and update treatment and discharge plans; coordinate care with psychiatry and nursing.
- Participate in IDTT / interdisciplinary meetings and complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in the facility EMR.
- Deliver psychoeducation, coping‑skill and relapse‑prevention work tailored to a secure setting.
- Unrestricted California license: LPCC, LMFT or LCSW (Board of Behavioral Sciences).
- Master’s (or higher) in a qualifying counseling/psychotherapy or social work field.
- Experience with serious mental illness, crisis stabilization or high‑acuity outpatient/forensic/acute settings.
- Ability to pass state background clearance (Live Scan) and standard onboarding.
- Prior correctional/forensic care experience.
- Familiarity with suicide prevention protocols, brief CBT/DBT‑informed interventions, motivational interviewing and trauma‑informed care.
- EMR proficiency and comfort working within policy‑driven clinical programs.

Hourly pay + eligible benefits (medical, 401(k) options, paid sick leave) - 1099:
Higher untaxed rate option with biweekly direct deposit.
Pay varies by license (LPCC/LMFT/LCSW), status (W-2 vs 1099) and schedule. We’ll provide exact figures for your situation during your first call.
A day in this role- Morning team huddle → individual sessions or co‑facilitated groups
- Midday IDTT/treatment planning updates and documentation
- Afternoon follow‑ups, crisis checks and care coordination with custody & medical
