The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a key member of the patient care team, responsible for providing essential daily living support and basic patient care. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, the CNA ensures patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being in various healthcare settings.

• Direct Patient Care:
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
  • Measure and record vital signs; promptly report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Support & Safety:
  • Aid in transferring and positioning patients to prevent falls and injuries.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by following infection control protocols.
• Patient Interaction:
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
• Additional Duties:
  • Assist with routine tasks as assigned by nursing supervisors or other healthcare professionals.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and current CNA certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous experience in healthcare or long-term care preferred.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

All Nurse Assistants hired on or after January 1, 1994 must have current CNA certification.
