As a Mechanic I, you will support aircraft engine accessory overhaul operations by performing hands‑on assembly, inspection, testing, and repair work in accordance with technical data and safety standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What you'll do:- Assembly, disassembly, repair, inspection, and testing of aircraft engine accessories
- Subassembly testing and calibration of various parts of aircraft engine accessories
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine proper operating conditions
- Test bench set‑up and operation
- Effective and accurate use of tools
- Troubleshoot and practical problem‑solving skills
- Lead, train, and mentor Accessory Shop Mechanic Trainee employees
- Requires minimal supervision
- Complete relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy
- Observe all applicable safety requirements/regulations
- Follow both written and verbal instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and organize workstations
- Participates in continuous process improvement
- Performing other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift to 50lbs without assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Proficient with English language to interpret and follow various technical data
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Experience working with J-85 engines is a plus
- Some A&P certification or equivalent experience through education and hands‑on training
- At least 1‑2 years of experience in aircraft engine accessory overhaul and repair
