Job Summary

The Inventory Specialist manages and maintains an organization’s inventory to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and availability of stock. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory levels, tracking stock movements, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory records. They play a critical role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations, preventing stock discrepancies, and supporting supply chain processes. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with inventory management systems.

Responsible for participating, supporting, and maintaining compliance to the Company’s quality, environmental and occupational health & safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities as defined by the Company.

Position responsibilities include direct communications with employees, customers, or representatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet operational needs while minimizing excess stock.
  • Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies with digital records.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data in warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and supply chain teams to ensure timely restocking of goods.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying quantities and quality of goods.
  • Identify and report slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged inventory for appropriate action.
  • Implement and follow inventory control procedures to prevent loss, theft, or spoilage.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies for management review.
  • Assist in audits and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize storage and organization of inventory.
  • Suggest improvements to inventory processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Net Suite, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
  • Familiarity with inventory control methods (e.g. FIFO, LIFO, cycle counting).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for reporting and data analysis.
  • Ability to lift and move inventory items (up to 50 lbs. depending on the role).
  • Excellent organizational skills and time‑management skills.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and vendors.
  • Forklift certification or experience with warehouse equipment.
