Overview
SYSCO SYGMA Northern California Distribution Center is seeking warehouse associates. The role involves hand-building pallets of products and loading them onto trailers according to established company and customer standards.
Responsibilities- Drive and utilize all company warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) to select, pull, sort, and stack product, weighing an average of 45 lbs., within the warehouse and dock safely, according to company standards.
- Work in a freezer and dry warehouse environment (freezer coats, hats, and gloves provided).
- Handle products and build pallets according to established food safety procedures (e.g., visual inspection of the product for damages, proper placement on pallets to minimize cross-contamination and damage).
- Ensure that the warehouse is maintained cleanly and safely according to company standards; take appropriate corrective actions when a spill or damaged case is discovered; dispose of trash and recycling in proper receptacles.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Education:
High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree. - Experience:
6 months of previous warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent physical work experience in place of a degree. - Professional
Skills:
Knowledge of safe lifting procedures and food safety guidelines; skill in building pallets quickly, accurately and safely; ability to operate forklift and/or pallet jack; meet minimum productivity levels; read, write and communicate in English; perform basic math; solve problems; follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; wear personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes). - Physical:
Willingness to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; routinely lift up to 50-90 pounds; specific vision abilities required.
- Work in hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; loud noise levels.

- Pay rate:
Up to $26.60 per hour; production incentives for meeting metrics; 4-day work week (Sunday–Friday) with Sunday start. Schedule flexibility preferred. - Medical, Dental, Vision and company-paid life insurance become active the 1st of the month after 31 days of employment.
