The Assistant Accountant will support the finance function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing accurate financial reporting, cost control support, and day-to-day accounting assistance. The role is key in ensuring timely month-end processes, stock and cost accounting, and compliance with internal controls.
Key Responsibilitie- sAssist with month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliation
- sSupport preparation of management accounts and variance analysi
- sMaintain and reconcile stock, WIP and cost of sale
- sAssist with standard costing, and production variance analysi
- sResponsible for cost allocation specifically for Time allocation (timesheets) and expens
- eProcess fixed assets, depreciation and capital expenditure reportin
- gAssist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirement
- sSupport audits and liaise with internal and external stakeholder
- sImprove financial processes and control
- sSupport implementation of SAP system (currently XERO
- )Provide support for transactional accountin
- gProvide on‑site operational support for financial processes, including the review and submission of employee expense claim
Skills & Experience Requir
- ed2–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within manufacturi
- ngAAT qualified/ or Part‑qualified ACCA / CIMA / A
- CA Experience with stock, WIP, and cost accounting desirab
- s)
Experience using XERO and S - APStrong attention to detail and analytical minds
