At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Imaging Directorate for enthusiastic and efficient individuals to join the team as an Imaging Receptionist.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for individuals wishing to gain exposure to a wide range of administration tasks along with customer service skills.
You will support the Imaging services- comprising of X-Ray, CT, MRI , Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.
This role is team based and also involves working independently.
We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, hardworking, flexible and have experience of working within a team.
Main duties of the jobThis is a fast paced environment where multi‑tasking and attention to detail are essential. Telephone / ICT skills are essential. You will be required to work on a rota which includes a variety of shifts including weekdays and weekends and cross site working including but not limited to County Hospital and the CDC. Flexibility, reliability and commitment is essential.
To provide a professional and welcoming front‑of‑house service for patients attending the Imaging Department, ensuring efficient administrative support and smooth departmental operations.
Welcome patients into the Imaging Department and assist them using the Imaging Computerised System. Patients may attend for X-Ray, CT, MRI, or Ultrasound.
Manage a high volume of emails and phone calls, providing timely and accurate responses.
Perform a variety of administrative tasks using a PC, including data entry and general office duties.
Utilise Microsoft Office applications as required for day‑to‑day administrative tasks.
Maintain a clean, organised, and professional Reception area at all times.
Liaise effectively with Modality Team Leaders and staff across the Imaging Department to support workflow and patient care.

Person Specification- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good standard of Education - English and Maths
- Reception Experience
- Knowledge of Data Protection & Confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and flexibly within a team
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent Customer service
- Proven ability to resolve high volume patient queries efficiently via phone, email, and face‑to‑face interactions
- Possess an awareness of the different medical imaging modalities
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail even when working under pressure
- Experience of handling complaints
- Accurate Data inputting
- Experience of working in a fast paced demanding administration environment
