Job overviewUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a confident, reliable and well-presented individual to join the multidisciplinary Hospital Transfusion Team (HTT) at Royal Stoke University Hospital. The role supports the Better Blood Transfusion initiative across the trust.
Main duties of the job- Extract information from clinical documents, pathology LIMS, and blood tracking systems to produce accurate and timely data reports for audits and practice improvements.
- Locate evidence of blood traceability and update relevant computer systems.
- Schedule meetings, training events and prepare clear minutes for review by technical and clinical teams.
- Represent the HTT with the trust communications team and update UHNM blood transfusion social media pages.
- Work under the supervision of the Transfusion Practitioner team and collaborate with laboratory, clinical and support staff.
- Occasional travel to County Hospital as required.
- GCSE at grade C or above in English Language.
- GCSE at grade C or above in Mathematics.
- RSA III or equivalent in word processing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.
- Working knowledge of Outlook and EPR.
- Four GCSEs at grade C or above.
- Experience of data entry.
- Experience using office equipment.
- Ability to organise work and meet deadlines.
- Excellent telephone, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a shared office environment.
- Previous experience working in a health‑care environment.
- Previous experience with health‑care database/IM&T systems.
- Suitable for walking across a large hospital site.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Flexibility to meet service demands and travel requirements.
Salary £25,760 - £27,476 pro rata per annum, yearly. Workplace:
Royal Stoke University Hospital with occasional travel to County Hospital. Flexible working arrangements are considered in line with Trust policies.
