The Opportunity

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join the night transport operation at one of their contracts in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, computer-literate individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to develop their experience within transport and logistics.

As a Transport Admin, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of scheduled transport activities, supporting drivers and helping maintain an efficient overnight operation.

Key Responsibilities of this Transport Admin:
  • Preparing, organising and issuing driver packs to ensure routes and requirements are fully documented.
  • Conducting driver pre-briefs and debriefs to support safety, compliance and operational accuracy.
  • Completing transport administration, including accurate data entry and record keeping.
  • Handling a high volume of telephone calls to support operational coordination and customer service.
  • Providing administrative and operational support to the night transport team.
  • Maintaining excellent health and safety standards at all times.
Requirements of this Transport Admin role:
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with drivers and colleagues.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to manage administrative tasks and data accurately.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work in a busy environment.
  • A willingness to learn and develop an understanding of the transport operation.

Previous transport or administration experience would be advantageous, but we welcome applications from candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, transferable skills and willingness to learn.

Working Pattern of this Transport Admin role:

The standard shift pattern is Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm to 6:00am.

Due to the requirements of the customer site over the Christmas period, two Fridays will also be required. To accommodate this, a day off will be provided during the week, rather than working six days.
