An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Logistics Team at Allied Bakeries as a Despatch Operative. It is your responsibility to ensure orders are despatched accurately and timely with minimal damage, while maintaining a safety‑first approach. You will perform product receipt, loading and unloading of vehicles, order picking, and product allocation.
What You'll Be Doing- Demonstrate the “Safety First” approach at all times, be proactive with hazard reporting, and work with dispatch coordinators and FLMs to target Zero Harm.
- Follow instructions, training, procedures and guidelines as set out by the site/department.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach when moving between the various tasks within the dispatch operation, including order picking, decanting, loading, unloading and product control, being open and willing to learn and develop new skills.
- Achieve the performance targets set; measured by the WMS and other supporting systems and measures.
- Drive personal development, ensuring knowledge and skills are utilised and developed, demonstrating a positive can‑do attitude to work, reflecting the Company’s values at all times.
- Actively contribute to site standards and respective internal and external audits, ensuring a “clean as you go” approach at all times.
- Build and develop effective relationships with other teams on site to ensure cross‑functional working and the optimal performance of the function is achieved.
- Experience in a warehouse environment, preferably FMCG, with high standards, good attention to detail and a willingness to work to rigorous procedures.
- Experience with FLT (essential). External FLT licenses (desirable).
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, as well as computer literacy.
- Conscientious and flexible in your approach to work, with excellent interpersonal skills.
