Building Surveyor

£45,000 - £55,000 + Company Pension + Nationwide Projects + Career Development

Stoke-On-Trent

Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading property consultancy to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor to join their growing nationwide surveying team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Building Surveyor with experience in residential property and project delivery to join a well-established organisation delivering surveying, major works and project management services across a diverse property portfolio.

The Role

As Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering surveying and project management services, overseeing major works projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining high standards of customer service throughout project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out building surveys and preparing specifications of work

  • Managing major works projects from inception through to completion

  • Preparing CDM 2015 documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Administering Section 20 consultation processes in accordance with the Landlord and Tenant Act

  • Supervising contractors on site to ensure quality, programme and health & safety standards are achieved

  • Managing contractor and consultant performance throughout project delivery

  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders

  • Supporting business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting with client growth

  • Providing technical support and mentoring within the surveying team

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the surveying function

  • Undertaking CPD and maintaining professional standards

Requirements
  • Degree or HND in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline

  • MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification

  • Significant experience within residential property surveying and project delivery

  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and Section 20 consultation procedures

  • Experience managing contractors, consultants and major works projects

  • Good commercial awareness and project management skills

  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and building pathology

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and performance specifications

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with insurance reinstatement projects, EWS1 or FRAEW assessments desirable
