Salary/Package: £28,000 - £33,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
About the CompanyOur client is a well-established specialist brickwork and masonry contractor delivering high-quality commercial, residential, and civil engineering projects across the UK. With extensive experience in traditional brickwork, blockwork, stonework, and façade packages, they have built a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship, reliability, and delivering projects safely and on programme.
Working alongside leading main contractors and developers, the business continues to secure repeat work across a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment schemes. As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Cheadle.
The RoleAs Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the commercial management of brickwork and masonry packages from procurement through to final account
- Supporting the preparation of subcontractor enquiries and procurement
- Assisting with valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
- Producing quantity take-offs and assisting with cost reporting and CVRs
- Monitoring project costs and supporting budget management
- Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and Site Teams
- Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Assisting in identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of multiple live projects
- Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry
- Experience with in brickwork, masonry, groundworks, or specialist subcontracting would be advantageous
- A Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management qualification (or currently working towards one)
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Full UK Driving Licence would be advantageous
- Competitive basic salary of £28,000 - £33,000
