We are looking for the highest calibre quality doctors who are seeking to gain further experience, skills escalation, career progression and higher qualifications. Applications are on the middle grade Paediatric Critical care (PCC) rota from as soon as possible. The post is not recognised as a Deanery training post; however, the on-site training opportunities will be the same as the other ST3+ Doctors.
The successful applicant will be assigned an educational supervisor to mentor their needs.
The post could suit a UK postgraduate doctor in training looking for an out of programme experience in Paediatric Intensive care / Paediatric High dependency careor an internationalmedical graduateapplicant looking to gain experience in theacute Paediatrics in theUK, with a view to attaining CCTthrough the portfolio pathway (previously known as the CESR route).
Main duties of the job. The trainee will havehands on opportunities to develop skills in Paediatric Critical care procedures such asendotrachealintubation, invasive venous and arterial lines, chest drains and other essential procedures. They will have access toourgeneralpaediatrics regular teaching program in additiontoin-housePCC educational activities.
Our middle grade rota on PCC also includes two advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs) who support research activities,simulation and educational activities on PCC. PCC at UHNM is an active research centre and continues to partake in national on-going research projects. PCC runs in-house and regional vascular ultrasound courses, NIV days and HDU courses. PCC also conducts regular in-house simulation having access to high fidelity SIM mannequins. PCC is supported by a full-time nurse educator.

Paediatric
Respiratory team, Paediatric LTV team and complex care teams.
