Thistley Hough Academy isseekingan enthusiastic, innovative, and highly motivated Teacher of Science to join our dedicated secondary school team from Easter. You will have a genuine passion for teaching Science and the versatility to deliver engaging lessons across the wider
Science curriculum, includingphysics,chemistryand biology. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to broaden their subjectexpertisein a supportive and forward-thinking school environment, or for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) eager to gain valuable classroom experience with the guidance of a skilled team of teachers and a dedicated technician. You will be a confident communicator, committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning, with a proactive approach to curriculum planning, classroom management, and student progress.
A strong focus on Health & Safety, creativity in lesson design, and a collaborative, student-centred mindset are essential to inspire and support learners acrossall year groups.
- Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum , with the ability to design and implement engaging, differentiated schemes of work that lay firm foundations for GCSE success.
- Proven track recordof excellent classroom practice ,demonstratinghigh expectations and the ability to raise attainment and enthusiasm for science across allyeargroups.
- Leadership experience or clear leadership potential , including the ability to support and develop colleagues through coaching, mentoring, or leading CPD.
- Commitment to curriculum development and assessment , ensuring progress is accurately tracked and interventions are purposeful and effective.
- Strong and skilled : a team with excellent subject knowledge and teachingexpertise.
- Cohesive and collaborative : we work closely to share best practice and support one another.
- Student-focused : we prioritise every student’s learning, progress, and enjoyment of science.
