Salary: £25,600 - £27,500 per annum (£1700 salary supplement dependent on experience and qualifications)

We are seeking a committed and resilient Teacher of English & Maths to support learners who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education, helping them re-engage and achieve meaningful qualifications.

Role Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and accessible English and Maths lessons to learners working towards GCSE or Functional Skills qualifications.

Plan, prepare, and adapt schemes of work to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and learning gaps.

Assess student work regularly, providing clear feedback and support to drive progress.

Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress, implementing interventions where needed.

Support learners' personal development, confidence, and resilience through positive relationships.

Work closely with pastoral and support staff to ensure individual learner needs are met.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and tracking in line with organisational requirements.

Essential Requirements

GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

Experience teaching or supporting learners in English and/or Maths within an alternative provision, FE, or similar setting.

Strong classroom management and the ability to engage learners who may be disengaged from education.

Excellent communication skills and a calm, consistent approach.

Commitment to inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs.

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).

A formal teaching qualification is desirable but not essential - full training and development support is available for suitable candidates.
