Milton Primary Academy (part of Windsor Academy Trust),

The Senior Leadership Team at Milton Primary Academy are seeking to recruit an experienced member to the school Welfare Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who already has experience of working closely with pupils and their families, to work in a different setting and be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead too.

At Milton Primary, we pride ourselves on our safe, nurturing environment and work hard to support families. Relationships with parents, the community and external agencies is vital in ensuring we meet pupil’s needs and extend our school offer beyond the school setting. This role is instrumental in ensuring we offer the right support at the right time. The Welfare Assistant, will be responsible for providing help and support for the social, physical and emotional welfare of pupils at Milton Primary Academy.

This role is:

  • Part time - 28 hours a week – 8.30am-4pm including a 30-minute lunch.
  • Tuesday to Friday, term time only
  • Permanent
  • Paid at Grade 4 - SCP 12-16 - Actual Salary - £18,864.10 to £20,496.80

The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • Places safeguarding as high priority,
  • Has experience of successfully working with families and pupils via Early Help or above,
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and understands school policies and practice,
  • Is a good communicator, is well organised and has strong record keeping skills,
  • Is able to build positive professional relationships with families and within the wider community reach,
  • Can support pupils from EYFS to Y6 with focused interventions and plan next steps,
  • Can work as part of a team and work towards a shared vision,
  • Is flexible and is able to support the school as required when supporting families,
  • Is organised and is confident to lead in meetings,
  • Is able to use computer systems for record keeping.
