Milk Education is working closely with a specialist SEMH school in Stoke-on-Trent that is looking to appoint a passionate and resilient Teacher to join their team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support to access education successfully.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building positive relationships, delivering engaging lessons, and helping pupils achieve both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs through positive behaviour strategies and relationship‑based practice.
  • Create a safe, consistent, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Differentiate learning to support varying abilities and EHCP targets.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and emotional development.
  • Monitor and assess progress, adapting approaches where needed.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
