We are looking for two enthusiastic, engaging individuals to join us in the role of Learning Support Practitioner at Ormiston Horizon Academy.
Our Learning Support Practitioners enable inclusion and support independent learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils, allowing them to continue to access mainstream education. In addition, they provide support to teachers in the preparation of teaching and learning materials.
The role of Learning Support Practitioner is varied and exciting, supporting students in the classroom in collaboration with subject teachers. In this role, you will work with individual pupils with special educational needs, or for whom English is not their first language. You will support pupil learning by providing feedback in relation to progress as well as support pupils emotional, social and physical well‑being.
If you are a team player, who is enthusiastic about making a difference this is the role for you. We are looking for someone who can build rapport and relationships with students, can interpret information and problem‑solve quickly. An NQQ level 2 or equivalent education or experience is preferred. Previous experience is not required, though would be advantageous.
