Manor Abbey School
Manor Abbey School is a provision for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, opened in Abbey Hulton, Stoke on Trent, in September 2024. Initial intake was 30 pupils in years 7 and 8, and the school will progressively fill to a capacity of 70 places over four years.
Role OverviewWe are seeking an inspiring and imaginative class teacher with a subject specialism who can adapt teaching style to ensure learning is fun, practical and creative. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of secondary‑aged children who have experienced difficulty accessing mainstream education.

- Awareness of trauma‑informed practices and positive mental‑health promotion
- Clear understanding of, and ability to, manage challenging behaviour
- Subject leadership as directed by SLT
- Significant SEN allowance
- Bespoke, high‑quality training to support knowledge and understanding of specialist behaviour management interventions
- Small class sizes and high staffing ratios, in and out of the classroom
