Randstad Student Support is actively seeking qualified SpLD specialists to deliver vital, one-on-one academic support to university students. This is a unique opportunity to utilise your specialist skills in a highly flexible role that adapts to your schedule, all while working with a trusted market leader dedicated to removing barriers in higher education.

Your Specialist Role & Key Impact:
As a Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide vital academic guidance and create individual learning plans tailored to student needs.

  • Foster independent learning by supporting students to develop independence and build on their learning strengths.
  • Create essential strategies for organisation and time management.
  • Formulate action plans to stay on track with studies.
  • Build crucial research skills, including widening knowledge, distinguishing appropriate sources, and correctly using references.
  • Enhance reading and writing comprehension skills.
  • Act professionally, maintain confidentiality, and address student concerns in a timely manner.

Qualification Requirements:
Candidates must adhere strictly to the qualification framework set out by the Department for Education (DfE). Minimum qualifications include an Undergraduate Degree (Level 6 minimum) and a Professional Membership.

  • Accepted professional memberships are listed in the NMH Qualifications Matrix.

Desirable

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to identify ways of helping students build on their strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship, punctuality and reliability, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage a caseload of students.
