About the role
Do you have what it takes to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour? Have you worked with children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? Can you engage with, motivate, and inspire young people? This role combines classroom assistance with pastoral youth support across schools in Staffordshire, Cheshire, Stoke on Trent, and Newcastle under Lyme.
Responsibilities- Support pupils who have experienced trauma, mental health and emotional needs.
- Assist in classroom teaching and classroom management.
- Provide pastoral youth support, helping children manage behaviours, regulate emotions, and engage with the school day.
- Experience working with young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD or other disabilities and needs.
- Ability to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills.
- Promote happiness, self‑reliance and encourage positive interactions.
- Emotional resilience and determination to support children’s thriving.
