Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley to recruit a passionate History Teacher
. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department where you’ll inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging them to explore the past, think critically, and develop a deeper understanding of the events and people that have shaped the world.

- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can achieve.
- Monitor, assess and track student progress, adapting your teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
- Develop students’ analytical, evaluative and critical thinking skills through engaging historical enquiry.
- Encourage curiosity and a genuine interest in historical events, societies and cultures.
- Support students in developing their confidence with source analysis, interpretation and evidence-based arguments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success of the Humanities department.
- Uphold the school’s values while maintaining high professional standards.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to inspire, engage and motivate students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one through Milk Education.
