WORKING HOURS:
40 Hours per Week JOB OVERVIEW This is a rewarding opportunity to join the organisation as a Vocational Tutor, supporting young people to build confidence, gain recognised qualifications and progress into employment, apprenticeships or further education. Working as the Vocational Tutor, you will deliver Level 1 Occupational Studies vocational programmes, alongside Functional Skills and/or GCSE English and maths up to Level
2. Learning will be practical, supportive and designed to help learners explore career options, develop employability skills and achieve positive outcomes. As the Vocational Tutor, you will work across partner sites based at Cheadle Town Football Club and Reddish North End Football Club, spending part of the week at each site. A keen interest in sport, football or fitness would be advantageous due to the learner interests and vocational units delivered, but this is not essential.
DUTIES Your duties as the Vocational Tutor include:
Teaching and Learning:
Deliver engaging vocational, employability and skills-based learning to post-16 learners English and Maths Delivery:
Teach Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills and/or GCSE English and maths Lesson Planning:
Plan schemes of work, lesson plans, resources and individual learning support plans Learner Progress:
Monitor progress, use assessment data and set individual learning targets Assessment Support:
Organise and support assessments, coursework, examinations and accreditation activity Pastoral Support:
Provide tutorial and pastoral support that promotes learner wellbeing, confidence and achievement Employability Development:
Embed work readiness, behaviour, social skills and independent learning into sessions Records and Compliance:
Maintain accurate learner records using ICT, eILPs, MIS and tracking systems Partnership Working:
Build effective links with apprenticeship teams, external organisations and partner sites Quality and Curriculum:
Contribute to course reviews, curriculum development, standardisation and quality assurance Safeguarding:
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL PGCE, Certificate in Education or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training Qualified to at least Level 3 in a relevant vocational specialist subject
Experience of teaching young people in post-16, Further Education or training provider settings
Experience of working with learners who may have behaviour management needs or barriers to learning Ability to plan and deliver programmes that meet individual learner needs within a group setting
Experience of embedding employability, social skills, English and maths into teaching, learning and assessment
Experience of teaching maths and/or English up to Level 2 and/or GCSE Strong classroom management, communication, organisation and time management skills Good ICT skills, including Microsoft packages and eILPs Flexible, motivated and able to work well as part of a team and with minimum supervision Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, learner wellbeing and high-quality education DESIRABLE A vocational background or qualification in sport, football or fitness
Experience of delivering Occupational Studies or similar vocational programmes Knowledge of Ofsted standards, ESFA funding guidance, JCQ, GCSE, exams or invigilation processes BENEFITS 30 days annual leave pro-rata plus bank holidays…
