About the role

Come and join our brilliant and friendly team! Applications are sought from enthusiastic, team-orientated and flexible individuals.

As part of the growth and development of our University of Staffordshire Business School. We are looking for a highly motivated Project Management Lecturer to join us in delivering our apprenticeship, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and to contribute to our high-quality research profile. The post holder will become part of a friendly, hard-working and dedicated team of academics who deliver across our business provision, including our new Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship (PMDA).

Main Responsibilities

The University of Staffordshire Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship is PRINCE2 accredited, giving our students a head start and valuable professional recognition as they develop their careers within an increasingly dynamic and globally significant profession
. You will be a member of the discipline team responsible for giving our students an excellent grounding in key topics including project planning, scheduling and control, risk and uncertainty management, project finance, procurement and commercial management, stakeholder engagement, governance and assurance, quality management, benefits realisation, change management, leadership and team dynamics, and predictive, agile and hybrid approaches to project delivery
.

With a strong focus on employability and the application of learning to professional practice, you will also work with our students to explore some of the most significant contemporary challenges facing the profession: from leading projects in volatile, uncertain and complex environments, managing increasingly interconnected portfolios and programmes, and responding to project failure and crisis
, through to the disruptive impact of artificial intelligence and automation, data-driven project decision-making, digital transformation, sustainability and net zero, responsible project management, cybersecurity, remote and globally distributed project teams, and the changing competencies expected of the project professionals of the future
.

You will encourage students to critically engage with established and emerging professional practice, drawing upon bodies of knowledge and frameworks including APM, PMI and PRINCE2
, while recognising that successful project management extends far beyond the application of tools and methodologies. Through your ability to bring theory to life using contemporary case studies, professional practice and real-world examples
, you will support students to understand the crucial strategic role that projects, programmes and portfolios play in organisational change, innovation, investment, transformation and decision-making
, preparing graduates who are equipped to lead projects and create value within complex organisations.
