Learning Support Assistant Graduate

The Stockwood Park Academy is filling a permanent Learning Support Assistant post aimed  post-holder supports students' learning, individually or in groups, with a focus on literacy and numeracy and other curriculum areas as directed. The role is term-time, 37 hours across 39 weeks, Monday to Thursday until 4pm and Friday until 3.30pm, plus five INSET days. Candidates need an enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.

• Support the teaching and learning of individual students or groups
• Support students' achievement in literacy and numeracy and other curriculum areas as directed
• Contribute to students' intellectual and social development

• GCSE or equivalent including at least grade 4/5 in English and Maths

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Experience of working in an educational setting

• Good knowledge of special educational needs (SEN)
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and students as a team player
• Ability to work on own initiative

• Enhanced DBS check
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to undergo safeguarding and child protection checks, including with past employers

• Experience of planning and leading small group teaching or interventions
