About the Role

We’re looking for a hands‑on Automation Engineer to join one of the UK’s most advanced automated distribution centres. This is a multi‑skilled role with a strong focus on PLC, PC, and controls fault management. You’ll act as the go‑to technical specialist for the shift team, ensuring operationally critical equipment is maintained, optimised, and continuously improved. This role is a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer and the point of contact for all PLC issues.

• Multi‑skilled maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Be able to modify PLC programmes.
• Hands‑on experience with pre‑planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast‑paced industrial factory.
• Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding experience.
• Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
• Experience with working on PLCs, ideally able to fault‑find using inputs and outputs.
