The OpportunityOur client is a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex projects across advanced process and manufacturing industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership, oversee project delivery, and support the development of innovative engineering solutions.

Your duties and responsibilities will be- Provide technical leadership on mechanical engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery against project requirements and client expectations.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, working closely with specialist engineering disciplines to achieve project objectives.
- Develop, review and approve mechanical engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation while maintaining high quality standards.
- Support project management activities including change management, procurement support, scope development, resource planning and project controls.
- Drive engineering best practice, continuous improvement initiatives, technical innovation and compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards professional registration with a recognised engineering institution.
- Proven experience delivering engineering projects within chemical processing, hydrogen, carbon capture, biotechnology or similar regulated industries.
- Demonstrable leadership experience managing and mentoring teams of engineers and designers.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills, supported by a high level of technical competence and commercial awareness.
