Global Head of Finance (International NGO)

Location: Cheadle (Office-based)Salary: £56,950 - £77,050 + BenefitsTravel: Up to 30%

An international non-profit organisation is seeking an experienced Global Head of Finance to lead its global finance function, strengthen financial governance, and drive transformation across multiple regions. This senior leadership role will shape financial strategy, enhance systems, and ensure high-quality financial management across international operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global financial strategy, planning and governance.
  • Support senior leadership with risk management, investment decisions and financial insight.
  • Oversee consolidated global accounts and audits.
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial policies and donor compliance.
  • Partner with programme teams to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Drive ERP and systems optimisation, automation and data integrity.
  • Manage and develop an international finance team.
  • Lead continuous improvement, audit readiness and operational efficiency across all country offices.

Candidate Requirements

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Additional project or process improvement qualifications (Lean Six Sigma, PRINCE2, Scrum, etc.) desirable.
  • 10+ years' post-qualification experience, including senior leadership roles.
  • Strong track record overseeing finance for international or federated operations, ideally within INGOs.
  • Advanced experience in ERP implementation and financial systems transformation.
  • Deep understanding of donor compliance, project accounting and cross-border finance.
  • Proven capability in budgeting, financial reporting, accounting principles and financial administration.
