DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong CTA‑qualified Tax Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with our Tax Director on a wide range of advisory projects, supporting high quality client delivery across private client and corporate matters.
You will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of complex tax advisory work, including drafting advice reports and supporting strategic planning assignments and projects.
The role offers exposure to a diverse client base, including Owner Managed Businesses (OMBs), high net worth clients, individuals and corporate groups.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Tax Director with preparation and delivery of high‑quality tax advice, taking a holistic approach to client advice and delivery.
- Prepare clear, well‑structured, and technically accurate written advice reports.
- Act as a trusted right hand to the Tax Director in managing workflow and driving projects forward, delivering best‑in‑class quality advice.
- Have knowledge of Private Client and Corporate matters affecting OMBs and assist with tax planning and restructuring projects for the business and its owners.
- Possess private client tax planning experience, including IHT planning, Capital Gains Tax advice and income extraction planning.
- Possess Corporate Tax planning experience, including corporate restructuring, drafting clearances, writing advice documents, advising on Share Schemes, Remuneration Planning, Restructuring (including groups), purchase of own shares and demergers, ERS reporting and ATED. While not essential, proven experience in these areas is important.
- Undertake technical research and apply findings to client scenarios; serve as a point of contact for other departments with technical tax questions when required.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to gather information and ensure timely delivery.
- Contribute to the development of internal technical knowledge and best practice for the team.
- Assist with Complex Compliance work as the need arises during busy periods, or with disclosure work and HMRC enquiries.
- CTA Qualified (essential) with post‑qualification experience in an advisory role.
- Proven experience in writing tax advisory reports to a high standard.
- Strong technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly.
- Background in advising OMBs on personal and corporate matters, or specifically private client and/or corporate advisory.
- Organised, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, can‑do attitude with a willingness to support and a hands‑on approach to delivery of detailed advisory work.
