Overview of the Associate Director of Strategic Finance
Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with Together Trust, an expanding and forward thinking supported educational specialist organisation based in Greater Manchester. They are currently looking for a strategic thinking number one in Finance to work alongside a relatively newly created leadership team and embrace the positive entrepreneurial spirit and approach to change whilst genuinely driving elements of the group wide strategic plan.
This is against a backdrop of keeping to the fundamentals of the organisation by maintaining the core values and people centric empathetic approach to all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the Associate Director of Strategic Finance
Ultimate responsibility for key financial, commercial insight and future resilience relating to the long-term strategic growth and aims of the multi-faceted organisation.
Provide strategic finance leadership for the wider leadership team, making recommendations and delivering key internal changes whilst leading on long-term financial planning and sustainability within the wider economic environment.
Robust forecasting, budgeting and investment appraisal, providing MI updates and monitoring progress of on-going major expansion capital projects.
Scenario analysis, modelling and information for future projects, to support decision making to assist delivery of on-going business performance targets.
Ensure the resources, assets and investments are aligned to strategic and future priorities whilst communicating any project related risks.
Build, develop and sustain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships supporting the strategic aims and performance targets whilst adhering to the wider organisation mission and values.
Play an integral part and hands-on delivery on new initiatives within a new digital, commercial and operational strategy.
Support commercial negotiations, providing key analysis and due diligence appraisal for potential key investments.
Lead on robust measures relating to cash management improvement, working capital and liquidity.
Integral part of finance systems improvement and roadmap, including wider use of Power BI and automated workflows.
Review and strengthen internal finance controls encompassing procurement, capital expenditure and project governance.
Required experience/qualifications of the Associate Director of Strategic Finance
Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
Extensive finance leadership experience, advising senior board members, on financial strategy, investment decisions, analysis, risks and the general commercial environment.
Proven internal and external stakeholder engagement skills, translating commercial and finance information to non-finance leaders.
Experience of strengthening robust financial controls and numbers, to aid decisions whilst balancing risks with commercial opportunity and ensuring future resilience.
Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, strategic financial planning.
Knowledge and experience of process improvement, financial control frameworks, governance and audit assurance.
Strong leadership skills, including coaching, development, inclusion and team culture.
