Job Type: Permanent, Full‑time (33 hours per week, includes occasional evenings and weekends)
Salary: £12.77

Job Description

As a Care Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:

  • Ensuring the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents with washing, toileting, dressing, and all aspects of daily living.
  • Assisting residents in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional and spiritual), ensuring comfort and dignity.
  • Paying particular attention to residents with limited mobility or learning difficulties, using aids when appropriate.
  • Monitoring residents who may be confused or have behavioural problems.
  • Assisting in the promotion of continence.
  • Assisting with care for residents who are dying or have a progressive illness, including end‑of‑life care.
  • Observing care planning needs and completing written daily records as instructed.
  • Supporting social activities by interacting with residents and helping them continue hobbies and activities.
  • Answering nurse call systems, doors and telephone, and passing on messages promptly.
  • Reporting on residents’ wellbeing under supervision of senior care staff.
  • Conducting regular checks on residents as determined by senior staff.
  • Welcoming visitors and providing refreshments or assistance.
  • Making and changing beds, cleaning rooms and ensuring waste is disposed properly.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment used by residents and relatives.
  • Recording participation and feedback to ensure engagement.
