Nuclear Medicine Physics Clinical Scientist – Band 8A

We are seeking an enthusiastic clinical scientist to work within the Nuclear Medicine Physics section, including acting as a Medical Physics Expert and Radioactive Waste Adviser, undertaking equipment quality assurance, administration of radiopharmaceuticals for thyrotoxicosis, optimisation of image quality, teaching and training. The post‑holder will also work with technologists and clinicians to support service developments.

The Nuclear Medicine imaging service for UHNM has three gamma cameras (2 with SPECT‑CT) alongside radiopharmacy in a modern PFI hospital build; and a PET‑CT scanner purchased in collaboration with Keele University. Nuclear Medicine Physics is part of the Radiology Physics section of Medical Physics which provides wide‑ranging scientific and technical support at this Trust and at neighbouring hospitals.

The post holder will be part of the physics team providing specialised clinical scientific services to diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospitals of North Midlands.
