At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The post holder will be required to supervise and manage the outpatient Reception Team and the Band 3 Supervisor. The post holder will also support the Outpatient Directorate in achieving NHS national targets and any internal KPI performance indicators. The post holder will deal with queries from staff and promote the importance of accurate and up to date patient demographics and data quality in Careflow.
The post holder will promote professional standards in patient care. It is anticipated that the post holder will be available throughout the day and be the first line contact to deal with any staffing concerns, aiming for resolution in the first instance before escalating to the Operational Services Manager.
- Communicate work procedures within the team to ensure that the needs of the service have been met.
- Work with the Outpatients Reception Team to ensure that we achieve any internal key performance indicators.
- Complete Staff PDR's, training, sickness and competencies.
- Manage staff in accordance to Trust policies.
- Ensure there is a communication process in place to elevate all training developments to the outpatient teams.
- Supervise any trainees, ensuring that process and procedure are not compromised due to inadequate training.
- Identify any training that needs to take place due to patient standards not being adhered to or due to complaints.
- Be able to manage frequently changing operational requirements.
- Take responsibility for any patient issues ensuring that all staff do the same.
- Share examples of good practice and help set up new administration systems if required to improve patient experience.
- Implement policies and propose changes to practices, procedures in own work area.
- Support where there are any shortfall in staffing levels throughout the management team.
- Ensure that practice and documentation are consistent with the Patient Access Policy and Trust Policies & procedures.

Person Specification- Management/Supervision of a large team
- Previous NHS experience
- Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures
- High computer literacy skills
- GCSE or equivalent Maths & English
- Understanding of confidentiality
