About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Specialist (Band 8a) within Critical Care to join the Therapies Directorate at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post holder will be required to facilitate clinical development and extend the scope of current practice with the aim of delivering the highest quality and most up-to-date evidence-based care.
Key responsibilities- Generate new research opportunities and implement the most up-to-date evidence-based practice.
- Enhance the ongoing training and education framework of a large therapy team to ensure an optimum learning environment for both static and rotational staff and students.
- Represent the organisation at a national networking level, influencing service development and marketing our service to key stakeholders.
- Build further clinical expertise that will enhance and broaden respiratory and rehabilitation skills within a highly motivated team.
- Provide supervision under the guidance of Principal Therapists and peer supervision.
- Support continuous development through appraisal, internal training and external learning.
- Possibly work out of hours.
The Critical Care Unit is a regional trauma centre and has 36 beds including trauma, surgical, medical, neurosurgical and Spinal Cord Injury. It is supported by an experienced therapy team which consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy technicians. The team works as part of a wider, dedicated multidisciplinary team.
