An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our Quality and Safety team as a Patient Safety Partner.
As a Patient Safety Partner (PSP) you will be actively involved in the design of safer healthcare at all levels in the organisation.

Main duties of the jobThis includes roles in safety governance. For example:
- Sitting on relevant committees to support compliance monitoring and how safety issues should be addressed
- Providing appropriate challenge to ensure learning and change
- The development and implementation of relevant strategy and policy.
Additional Information:
- This is a voluntary position (travel expenses paid in line with volunteer policy).
- The successful candidate must register as an UHNM volunteer.
- Recruitment checks (including a DBS check) and mandatory training are required.

Job responsibilitiesThe Patient Safety Partner should ensure that any committee/group of which they are a member considers and prioritises the service user, patient, carer and family perspective and champions a diversity of views.

These include the time commitment for training, specific roles and frequency of meetings where appropriate. The PSP will need to comply with relevant policies and maintain strict confidentiality in respect to discussions and information when required.
Person Specification Qualifications- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office:
Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point - Previous role with a public sector organisation
- Safety related qualification or work experience
- A broad interest in patient safety
- Ability to communicate verbally with an ability to advocate for patient safety, provide a lay perspective
- Ability to ask questions and work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Ability to read comprehensive reports
- Sound judgement skills and ability to be objective
- Positive mindset in respect of supporting organisational change; learning, and continuous improvement.
- Emotional effort; the post holder will at times be exposed to distressing and emotional circumstances
- Ability to work flexibly around meetings dates and other commitments
- Ability to act with kindness and compassion to others
