We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our well-established, innovative and friendly Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for staff who have completed their Band 5 rotations or who are looking to expand their existing clinical knowledge within MSK.
You will be required to hold a valid HCPC registration and have evidence of clinical skills working with patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions. You must have a clear desire to expand your knowledge and skills, with the capacity for autonomous clinical decision‑making and problem‑solving. We are looking for a team player who is a good communicator, open, honest and compassionate.
You will need to work flexibly, develop effective professional relationships, and contribute to service development and improvement. Support and guidance will be provided by a team of experienced Advanced Physiotherapists, Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, and Clinical Champions. There is an excellent MSK IST programme, regular clinical supervision, and career progression opportunities through a robust MSK Development and Competency Framework.
As part of your role in the MSK Service you will:
- Provide MSK assessment, diagnose and manage a variety of MSK conditions through clear and logical clinical reasoning.
- Provide MSK assessments & treatments in a variety of settings.
- Support the development of Band 5 physiotherapists, unregistered staff and undergraduate physiotherapy students.
- Work closely with other teams and agencies, addressing support issues across MSK and pain conditions.
- Support service development and delivery of local and Trust-wide projects.
- Participate in the MSK IST programme and regular clinical supervision.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent with registration with HCPC.
- Evidence of post-registration training and/or professionally recognised courses and/or development in MSK physiotherapy.
- Modules at masters level.
- Evidence of further clinical study relevant to clinical practice.
- Relevant experience (a minimum of 18 months in the UK) to the role, including assessment and management of MSK conditions.
- Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
- Supporting service users, families and carers in dealing with the impacts of MSK conditions, pain and disability.
- Working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Project work, clinical audits, and service development.
- Supporting physiotherapy students on placement.
