Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Registered veterinary night nurse Vacancy 7 nights on 14 Nights Off, Oxfordshire
Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Overview

My client is seeking suitable candidates for a permanent, part-time Night Veterinary nurse position. As the central hospital for other branches in the area, the hospital is modern and well equipped, providing high-quality, honest veterinary care around the clock. Situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, it offers picturesque surroundings with excellent access to Oxford city centre. Following a recent refurbishment, the hospital now benefits from advanced facilities, including a CT scanner and digital X-ray technology.

The practice is led by two long-standing Partners who are dedicated to maintaining exceptional clinical standards and fostering a supportive team culture. The night team consists of four experienced night vets working on a one week on, three weeks off rota. With many long-standing team members, the hospital has developed a reputation as a collaborative, welcoming, and friendly place to work.

Role

Details

Based in Oxfordshire, this role follows a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, averaging 28 hours per week. The salary package is inclusive of annual leave, bank holidays, and CPD days. Each shift is fully supported by either a nurse or a veterinary care assistant, ensuring a collaborative and well-supported working environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for emergency and critical care and a strong commitment to delivering gold-standard patient and client care. They will join a team where every nurse’s contribution is valued and where teamwork is central to achieving the best possible outcomes for patients. Core responsibilities include delivering exceptional out-of-hours patient care, providing thorough monitoring and treatment, supporting clients with empathy and professionalism, and working closely with colleagues to ensure seamless clinical service.

Benefits

In recognition that a veterinary career is about more than a rota or job title, the practice offers a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a Health Cash Plan, 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support, and life assurance at three times salary. Professional development is actively encouraged through a £580 CPD allowance, access to clinical committees, internal CPD within the 24-hour hospital, and funded certificates with clear internal career pathways.

Additional support includes paid RCVS and VDS fees, a cycle-to-work scheme, and much more.
