Looking for an opportunity to specialise in autism, work alongside an experienced multi‑disciplinary team and enjoy the benefits of term‑time working?
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will manage your own clinical caseload and deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based and person‑centred occupational therapy interventions tailored to the individual needs of pupils and students. Working collaboratively with families, education staff and other professionals, you will help remove barriers to learning, promote independence and improve outcomes for young people.
Responsibilities- Deliver specialist OT assessments and interventions.
- Support EHCP outcomes and Individual Education Programmes.
- Advise on specialist equipment and sensory‑informed approaches.
- Work as part of a collaborative multi‑disciplinary team.
- Support and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Deliver training, advice and consultancy to staff and families.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registered with a current practising certificate.
- Experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions is desirable; applications from therapists with transferable skills and a passion for supporting autistic young people are welcomed.
- Experience with in special school, paediatric or multi‑disciplinary settings.
- Knowledge of sensory‑informed approaches and paediatric OT practice.
- Can independently manage and prioritise a clinical caseload.
- Can support and supervise other team members.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Committed to person‑centred, inclusive and collaborative practice.
- Proactive, flexible and committed to continuous professional development.
- Knowledge or experience of Sensory Integration approaches.
- Experience contributing to service development.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
