Healthcare Assistant - Staffordshire and Stoke

Main duties of the jobIn this rewarding role, you will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping people feel safe, comfortable and respected at a highly important time in their lives. You will support individual care plans by assisting with personal care, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, mobility, rest and sleep, and maintaining a clean and safe care environment.
You will also observe and respond to changes in a person s condition, support symptom management within the agreed care plan, and escalate any concerns promptly to registered healthcare professionals. You will offer calm, sensitive and professional communication to patients and those important to them, helping to preserve dignity, choice and wellbeing.

Multiple Positions Available - Job Shifts

Night shifts from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday to Sunday including Bank Holiday - Salary
:
Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC), £12.92 per hour. Plus, enhanced pay for nights, weekends and public holidays, with up to a 41% uplift on the Band 2 hourly rate - Location

Community-based in Staffordshire and Stoke
What we are looking for:
- Recent experience of providing care in a health or social care setting, with the confidence to support people with dignity, compassion and respect.
- An understanding of person-centred care, ideally including palliative or end-of-life care, and a genuine commitment to making a difference to patients and those important to them.
- The ability to communicate sensitively and professionally, recognising when to escalate concerns or changes in a person s condition to the wider clinical team.
- A caring, flexible and resilient approach, with the ability to work independently while remaining part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Good basic IT skills, including the ability to use email, online training, mobile technology and care recording systems.
- An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, is desirable but not essential.
- A valid driving license, access to a vehicle with business insurance, and flexibility to travel up to 25 miles from your home address across Staffordshire and Stoke, including during unsocial hours.
