Location: Stoke-on-Trent

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

The post holder will work with the maternity tobacco dependency treatment services lead and other members to provide individualised stop smoking support to women and families in a flexible and innovative way. This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.

Specifically, The Post Holder Will

Provide intermediate stop smoking support throughout pregnancy and the post-natal period, using the support of interventions such as CO monitoring and Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

Work with the specialist Maternity Tobacco Dependency Treatment Services Lead to deliver all elements of the Smokefree pregnancy agenda including administration, data collection and collation.

Promote the general health and wellbeing of people who use the service through offering healthy lifestyle advice and support.

Seek out opportunities to develop and implement stop smoking services in a range of health and community settings.

Work with minimal indirect supervision operating within the assessed level of competence and being accountable for all aspects of own work.
