Helping people find jobs in the local area since 2008
Working flexibly within the Work Aid supported employment team to coordinator and deliver a Travel Training Programme on a 12 month fixed term basis.
Travel is one of the most significant barriers preventing people with learning disabilities and autistic people from accessing both the community and employment. Many individuals have the skills, motivation and ambition to work, but without the confidence and practical ability to travel independently, opportunities remain out of reach.
Travel to Work is a targeted initiative designed to remove this barrier and will directly deliver structured, person-centred travel training. You will integrate travel training into our supported employment service, ensuring that new independence leads to meaningful outcomes, as well as supporting individuals to access work experience, paid employment, volunteering and/or further training.
What you'll do:
- To engage with the people we support and deliver a travel training service.
- To demonstrate effective time management by keeping accurate records to show economic use of time and resources, diary appointments and workload.
- To use initiative in exploring new approaches and to think outside the box.
- Communicate with external organisations and Aldingbourne Trust projects.
- To maintain accurate and up to date documentation of records on people
What we're looking for:
- Ability to facilitate and implement change.
- Knowledge of the local community.
- Experience of working neurodiverse adults.
