Specialist Nurse - Plastics

The Alexandra Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary:

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff to manage patients who require reconstruction or cosmetic surgery pre and post operatively.

The role will provide expert clinical knowledge and continuity of care across the patient pathway, from initial consultation through to post-operative recovery and follow-up.

This type of surgical patients often presents with complex clinical needs, including reconstructive procedures following cancer treatment, trauma, skin cancer excisions, breast reconstruction, and elective aesthetic surgery.

These patients require specialist assessment, wound management, patient education, and ongoing support to optimise outcomes and minimise complications.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week.

The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
  • Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.
  • Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, GPs, allied health professionals, and other nursing colleagues to support integrated, patient-centred care.
  • Act as a resource for education and clinical development within your specialty.
  • Lead or support audits, patient feedback initiatives, and quality improvement programmes related to your specialist area.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
  • Level 7 qualification in the relevant specialty area.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
