We are seeking a motivated and organised pharmacy technician with strong problem solving skills to join the pharmacy department at Royal Stoke , University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team during a transformative period , following the successful implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) across the trust . This post is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity and provides an excellent chance to gain a wide range of hospital pharmacy experience within a large and innovative NHS organisation .

As one of our Rotational Pharmacy Technicians , you will gain experience across a variety of pharmacy services, including :

  • Dispensing controlled drugs using electronic registers from automated storage cabinets
  • Providing a controlled drug top up and replenishment services to theatre areas
  • Developing experience with IT Systems including Ascribe, Automated dispensing systems & Prescription Tracking systems
  • Supporting the safe and effective management of medicines through stock control and inventory management
  • Contributing to medicines optimisation services on wards
  • Supporting the training and development of pharmacy staff

This is a varied role that will allow you to develop your technical knowledge, clinical understanding and operational skills whilst working alongside experienced pharmacy professionals. We are looking for an individual who is a strong team player, able to adapt to changing priorities and committed to delivering a high-quality service. You will need excellent attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and a clear understanding of the scope and limitations of your role.

You should be able to follow written procedures, work effectively under supervision, prioritise your workload and complete tasks accurately within agreed timescales.
