We are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Educational Psychologist (AsEP) who can demonstrate an enthusiasm for applied psychology, is willing to learn and to contribute to the continued development of the Educational Psychology Service here in Stoke-on-Trent.

You will have access to regular supervision and opportunities to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills, important for gaining the experience needed to support an application for doctorial training courses. Your role will be to support the activities of the Educational Psychology Service (EPS) and to work alongside educational settings and other partners as we work towards better outcomes for children, young people, their families and our communities.

• Support the delivery of Educational Psychology Service (EPS) activities that promote positive outcomes for children, young people and families
• Work alongside Educational Psychologists, schools, and partner agencies to provide psychological support within educational settings
• Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions, projects and service development initiatives
• Gather, analyse and present information to support assessments, consultations and evidence-informed decision making
• Participate in supervision, training and professional development activities to enhance psychological knowledge, skills and readiness for future doctoral training

• A degree in Psychology (or a related discipline), with a strong interest in applying psychological theory and research to support children and young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, schools and professional partners
• Strong analytical and organisational skills, including the ability to gather, interpret and present information effectively
• A willingness to learn, reflect and engage in professional supervision and development opportunities to enhance practice
• Experience of working with children, young people, families, schools or other community services, alongside a commitment to improving outcomes and promoting inclusion
