Introduction

At Artex, we reimagine what risk management can be and we do it with bold thinking, deep expertise, and an unwavering belief in what’s possible. As part of our global team, you’ll help clients navigate complex risks through creative, forward-looking solutions that go beyond the expected. This is a place where innovation is encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and no two days look the same.

We’re a community of confidently curious problem-solvers, opportunity seizers, and collaborative thinkers, working together to challenge convention and shape the future of our industry. Here, you’ll be supported to explore your potential, grow your expertise, and make a meaningful impact on a global scale.

Overview

As a Client Insurance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the insurance and reinsurance activity for a portfolio of clients. You’ll work with colleagues across the wider insurance team and build trusted relationships with clients, reinsurers, regulators, auditors and legal advisers.

This is a varied role where you’ll combine technical insurance knowledge with client service, board-level communication and careful financial oversight. You’ll also help junior colleagues develop their knowledge by sharing guidance and reviewing their work.

How you'll make an impact

You’ll manage insurance and reinsurance administration across your client portfolio, making sure policies, renewals and cancellations are completed accurately and on time. You’ll establish underwriting and reinsurance programmes, check that incoming and outgoing policies match, and prepare or review policy wordings.

You’ll play an active part in client governance. This includes preparing and reviewing board packs, attending board meetings, presenting the insurance section and following up on minutes and agreed actions. You’ll also produce renewal reports and presentation packs for reinsurers.

Your work will help protect clients’ interests. You’ll review and settle claims and bordereaux, monitor reinsurance recoveries and work with reinsurers to collect outstanding amounts. You’ll prepare insurance accounts, triangulations and underwriting statistics, and monitor solvency and capital adequacy so that any required action can be identified.

You’ll also:

  • Check reinsurance slips, cover notes, policies and other formal documents against the relevant inwards policy documents.
  • Respond to new client enquiries allocated to you.
  • Work with external parties, including the GFSC, advocates and auditors.
  • Support junior colleagues through mentoring and review work completed by the Client Insurance Assistant.
  • Follow Artex policies and procedures, complete timesheets accurately and contribute to internal meetings and initiatives.
About you

Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:

  • A CII qualification or an equivalent insurance qualification.
  • Experience working in the insurance industry, with the knowledge needed to manage insurance and reinsurance activity for a client portfolio.
  • The ability to prepare and review policy wordings, renewal information and formal insurance documentation.
  • Experience reviewing claims, bordereaux, reinsurance recoveries or related insurance records.
  • The ability to prepare clear information for board meetings and explain insurance matters to board members and other stakeholders.
  • An understanding of solvency, capital adequacy, underwriting information and insurance accounts.
  • The ability to work with clients, reinsurers, regulators, auditors, legal advisers and colleagues across different areas of the business.
  • Experience guiding colleagues, sharing technical knowledge or reviewing another team member’s work.
  • The ability to organise competing tasks and maintain accurate work when priorities change.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A commitment to working ethically, following agreed procedures and treating clients and colleagues with respect.
