Role OverviewTo contribute to and support the site’s operations in the delivery of efficient, economically effective and compliant receipt, storage, handling and export of waste and recyclable materials. To adhere to the Waste Hierarchy at all times and ensure that recycling targets are reached by maximising segregation.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and operate the assigned plant, shunter hook-lift vehicle and road hook-light as required for the storage and transporting of waste and recyclable materials.
- Follow site rules and adhere to speed limits & reversing procedures including using a bank's persona when required.
- Report any accident or incidents to the Operations Team Leader.
- Assist and direct the public on site to ensure correct segregation of waste and recyclable materials.
- Drive in a safe and courteous manner, following traffic regulations.
- Hold a valid driver certificate of professional competence qualification card (CPC) and undertake required training to ensure validity.
- Have experience of working in a waste environment, including an operational depot or waste transfer station.
- Experience of working to strict health and safety guidelines.
- Experience of dealing with a wide range of colleagues and customers.
- Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
