Transport Resource Planner

Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Transport Resource Planner to join a busy and fast‑paced transport operation in Stoke on Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual with strong planning skills to play a key role in ensuring the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles and trailers while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

• Produce and manage daily transport resource plans to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
• Monitor transport operations and make real‑time adjustments to maintain service levels.
• Manage driver availability, annual leave and agency requirements.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
• Support transport administration, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all planning activities are carried out in line with company procedures and legislative requirements.

• Previous experience within a transport planning or resource planning role.
• Strong geographical knowledge and route planning capability.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Tacho Master and Paragon systems is essential.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer‑focused approach.

Hours: Full Time – Rotating Shifts (06:00-14:00, 08:00-16:00 and 12:00-20:00)
Pay Rate: £15.51 per hour
